Laser-Induced Plasmas: Dynamics in Air
نویسندگان
چکیده
Growth dynamics of plasma bubbles formed by laser-induced breakdown of air were examined. A literature search revealed that the physical dimensions of the plasma bubble are self-limited by shock wave separation and defocusing of the incoming laser beam. Chemical kinetics were then modeled by employing a system of sixteen coupled nonlinear differential equations. Oversimplification in initial conditions and time-dependent rate constants produced unrealistic results from the model.

Damage of the normal tissue is a serious concenrn in cancer treatment. Hyperthermia by laserhas been considered as a safe cancer treatments methods with lower harmful effects on normaltissues. Using nanoparticles in cancer treatment has improved laser therapy, which is based ona selective cell targeting method to localize cell damages. Metallic nanoparticles such as gold, silver, and copper have...
متن کاملTerahertz emission from laser-induced microplasma in ambient air
The integration of ambient air plasmas as source and sensor in terahertz time-domain techniques allows spectral measurements covering the elusive terahertz gap (0.1–10 THz), further increasing the impact of those scientific tools in the study of the four states of matter. In this article we describe the experimental study of the terahertz emission from a laserinduced plasma of submillimeter siz...

Abstract: In this paper, combining the Maxwell equations with the electron balanceequation, we obtain the inverse braking radiation absorption coefficient in a laser fusioncorona plasma. For a fixed plasma temperature, variations of the absorption coefficientversus the penetration depth into the plasma are illustrated numerically for differentvalues of laser wavelength. ...
